Bricks in the Wall

Bricks In the Wall - House of Blues, 1/04/08
This was a very interesting show. This Pink Floyd Tribute band uses
lasers, a round video screen and a large pink pig called "Old
Major," that moves back and forth over the crowd Large white bricks
were stacked on both sides of the video screen giving the show a
very trippy feel. The large band, which includes two female singers
and a sax player, did a very good job on "Shine on You Crazy
Diamond," "Breathe," "Arnold Layne," "Pigs" and "One of These Days."
Clocks filled the video screen during "Time."
"The Great Gig In The Sky" ended the first set with Medea's dazzling
vocals. With Bricks playing long album versions, the night had a
true Floydian grove. "Wish You Were Here" became a sing along for
the near sell-out crowd. It was a great way to start the New Year.

Dallas Observer says...

Dallas Observer July 6th 2007 by: Justin Press

It's almost becoming repetitive at this point but week after week tribute bands seem to be the way to spend your dollar. The occasional local act may garner some praise but with the bang for your buck mentality, you might as well get what you pay for.  In this case, its Bricks In The Wall, a band about as stellar as Aussie Pink Floyd re-creating the genius of Gilmour and Waters.   What better way to bring in this nation's overindulgence in celebrating itself then with English premier progressive sounds. Who needs fucking Yankee Doodle Dandy or Fiddler's Boston Pops when "Interstellar Over Drive" provides both a bigger bang and a higher high?  You want "Us and Them"; you got it, in all its gloomy glory. The evenings with BITW can sometimes take 2.5 to 3 hours, because tackling THAT catalogue takes a killer's patience and an incredible liver as you dive into the second side of Wish You Were Here, you already burst thru the equivalent of a 12 pack and 3 shots of Mexico's clearest.  Dada is doing a hell of a job keeping up with the race to stay alive and it continues week in and out to provide the best sounds while remaining a truly great haunt.   Bricks In The Wall was created as another faction of Floydism, whereas laser light shows, films and touring acts continue to showcase all the excellence of Cambridge, England's finest foursome.  So if you're sick and tired of 1-2-3 Go! And need to go back into your prism, and then this is the band and the place to do it. Space is the place, but for right now, this will do.
